One of the most important museums in the city is the Natural History, which belongs to the University of Oxford and exhibits thousands of objects in its geological, zoological, entomological and mineral collections.

Founded in 1860 by medical professor Henry Acland as a center for the study of the natural world, this impressive and interesting museum is housed in a neo-gothic building designed by Irish architects Thomas Newenham Deane and Benjamin Woodward.

If you visit the city and want to know its collection with more than 4.5 million objects, this is what you have to know:

  • It is an ideal space for the whole family. It has special tours for little travelers and activities to make the visit more enjoyable.
