For this sweet bread to taste really good, your Hungarian slices need the ingredients below. 
Follow the step-by-step instructions for preparation.

Ingredients

  • Pasta
  • 2 and ¾ cup (tea) of wheat flour 375 grams

  • 10 grams of dry yeast or 30 grams of fresh yeast

  • 1 egg 50 grams

  • 2 and ½ tablespoon of sugar 30 grams

  • 1 teaspoon of salt 5 grams

  • 1 and ½ tablespoon of oil 20 ml

  • ¾ cup (tea) of cold or iced water 150 ml

  • Filling
  • ½ cup (tea) butter or margarine 100 grams

  • ¼ cup (tea) of granulated sugar 45 grams

  • ½ cup (35 grams) dry grated coconut

  • Syrup
  • ½ cup (tea) of condensed milk 115 grams

  • ½ cup (tea) of water 110 ml

  • Cover
  • 280 grams of condensed milk or the rest of the box of condensed milk

  • ½ cup (35 grams) grated coconut

Directions

  • Pasta
  • In a bowl, add 2 and ¾ cup (tea) of wheat flour 375 grams;
  • Add 10 grams of dry yeast or 30 grams of fresh yeast;
  • Mix;
  • Make a space in the middle;
  • Add 1 egg 50 grams;
  • Add 2 and ½ tablespoon of sugar 30 grams;
  • Add 1 teaspoon of salt to 5 grams;
  • Add 1 and ½ tablespoon of oil to 20 ml;
  • Add ¾ cup (tea) of cold or ice water 150 ml;
  • Mix;
  • Transfer to a bench and make 20 folds in the dough (from the outside to the inside);
  • Place the dough back in the bowl, with the folds facing down;
  • Cover and let rise for 1:30h;
  • Make 20 folds again;
  • Let it rest for another 20 minutes covered;
  • Filling
  • In a bowl, add ½ cup (tea) butter or margarine 100 grams;
  • Add ¼ cup (tea) of refined sugar 45 grams;
  • Add ½ cup (tea) of dry grated coconut 35 grams;
  • Mix well;
  • Transfer the dough to your floured worktop;
  • Sprinkle flour on top;
  • Open the dough;
  • Turn the dough and open the other side too;
  • Add the stuffing;
  • Fold and roll the dough;
  • Cut the slices;
  • Transfer the slices to a greased shape with butter;
  • Cover and let rise for 1:30h;
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes;
  • Cover
  • In a bowl, add half a cup of condensed milk;
  • Add half a cup (tea) of water;
  • Mix;
  • Add the syrup over the Hungarian slices;
  • Add the rest of the condensed milk on top;
  • Add grated coconut;
