  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) canola oil, or vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1 1/2 cups (300 g) granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs, room temperature

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste

  • 3 cups (360 g) cake flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (240 g) buttermilk, room temperature

  • Frosting
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

  • 4 large egg whites

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups (454 g) unsalted butter, cut into pieces at room temperature

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract

Directions

  • In a bowl, add butter;
  • Add oil;
  • Add sugar;
  • Beat in a mixer;
  • Add eggs (mix one at a time);
  • Add vanilla paste;
  • Mix;mix
  • In a bowl, add cake flour;
  • Add baking powder;
  • Add salt;
  • Stir;
  • Add a half of the dry mix to the mixer with the wet mix;
  • Mix;mix dry and wet
  • Add buttermilk;
  • Mix;
  • Add the other half of the dry mix;
  • Mix;
  • Transfer the dough to 2 greased and floured pans;forms
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes;
  • Cover with swiss meringue buttercream;cream
  • Cover with the other dough;
  • Cover with swiss meringue buttercream also on the sides;cover with cream
  • Decorate;
