Every rainy season, which runs from mid-June to mid-August, in the Nanacamilpa forest, in Tlaxcala, thousands of fireflies give visitors a magical experience.
This year, according to the Canto del Bosque ecotourism complex, the season to see this natural spectacle will be from June 17 to August 14, and travelers can now book their visit and accommodation.
During this season, the fireflies carry out their mating ritual where, through the light emitted by their bodies, they seek to find a mate and reproduce.
The visiting hours begin at 7:00 p.m. with a guided walk through the Sanctuary of the Fireflies, later, around 8:30 p.m. you will be able to see the mating dance of the fireflies. The natural spectacle lasts approximately 40 minutes.
It is important that if you visit this place you respect the rules, such as not making sudden movements or noises and not using cell phones, cameras and lamps.
