For your Hoisin Sauce to be perfect, use the ingredients below and follow the instructions in the preparation method.


  • 4 tbsp (64 g) date paste

  • 2 tbsp (32 g) creamy peanut butter

  • 1 tbsp (20 g) maple syrup

  • 1/2 tbsp (10 g) molasses or maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp (20 ml) soy sauce or tamari or coconut aminos

  • 2 tbsp (20 ml) rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp (5 ml) sesame oil

  • 1 tsp hot sauce or more to taste

  • 1 clove garlic finely minced or crushed

  • 1/4 tsp five-spice powder

  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch (optional)


  • In a bowl, add Date Paste;
  • Add Peanut Butter;
  • Add Molasses;
  • Add Soy Sauce or Tamari;
  • Add Rice Vinegar;
  • Add Maple Syrup;
  • Add Sesame Oil;
  • Add Hot Sauce;
  • Add Five-Spice Powder;
  • Add chopped Garlic;
