Feast of Saint Matthew Lê Van Gâm May 11

Today, May 11, we celebrate San Mateo Le Van Gam who was a Christian martyr.

Saint Matthew Lê Van Gâm was arrested for introducing European missionaries with his small boat and after spending a year in prison he was executed by order of Emperor Thiêu Tri.

Saint Matthew Lê Van Gâm died in Saigon, Vietnam, on May 11, 1847.
