La Guelaguetza is one of the most important events in Mexico, it takes place every year in Oaxaca and thousands of locals and travelers gather to be part of it; however, this year it can also be held in Mexico City from June 30 to July 9.
The capital’s Zócalo will host this event in which free performances will be offered on June 30, July 1,2, 7, 8 and 9.

During these functions, dance, music, crafts and local products from Oaxaca will be shared.

In addition, starting June 8, the Cinegob (mobile cinema) will tour the 16 city halls of Mexico City to screen a documentary that shows the cultural, folkloric and ethnic wealth of Oaxaca.

At the moment the schedule in which the functions and projections will be offered is unknown, so we recommend you to be aware of the announcement of the government authorities of Mexico City.
This year, the Guelaguetza in Oaxaca will take place on July 17 and 24.
