It’s a comfort food favorite often served as a side dish, particularly during holiday gatherings or potluck dinners. The basic ingredients and preparation can vary, but the dish usually involves steaming or blanching the broccoli, mixing it with a creamy sauce made from ingredients like cheese, cream of mushroom soup, or sour cream, and then baking it until bubbly and golden brown on top. Some variations may also include additional ingredients such as diced onions, garlic, or breadcrumbs for added texture and flavor.   • 4 cups broccoli florets

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Steam or blanch the broccoli florets until they are tender but still firm. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, beaten eggs, and chopped onion. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the cooked broccoli florets to the mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Transfer the broccoli mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and melted butter until well combined. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the broccoli mixture in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, and the breadcrumbs are golden brown on top.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
