I am Karina Ofelia Mora Solís and it is a pleasure to share one of many stories with my traveling friends. I am the girl with the dimples on her cheeks.

I’ll tell you about my friends. I met Gicela in 2000, in high school, and over the years she met Paty. When the three of us got together for the first time, we agreed to travel the world and we started traveling nationally around 2010. Later, Anita, Paty’s sister, joined us, and over time we have also traveled with our families.

Our list of places we have visited is already long and hopefully on another occasion we can share them all.

In March 2023 we had the opportunity to travel abroad for the first time and we chose Peru, thanks to Alan’s videos around the world that inspire and guide us.

My friends Paty, Gicela and Anita went to visit the following places:

  • Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu
  • Humantay Lagoon
  • Mountain of seven colors
  • Ollantaytambo
  • Ollantaytambo and Pisac
  • Cusco, Plaza de Armas and the Maras Salt Mines
  • Lima and Miraflores

The trip was quite an adventure, as it exceeded our expectations when we saw the landscapes and mountains that we had to climb to see the Humantay Lagoon, surrounded by snow, see a condor fly and witness a mini avalanche in the distance.

In addition, we learned some words in Quechua, thanks to our guide who taught us while doing a ceremony at the lagoon.

The Huayna Picchu mountain was a challenge but, thanks to it, we were able to appreciate Machu Picchu in all its splendor, as the guides suggested we do so to better appreciate Machu Picchu and it was worth it, it was wonderful.

On our tour to the Rainbow Mountain we had one of the best surprises of our trip. On the way we saw snow and had time to play with it, and for some of my friends it was the first time they had seen snow.

We traveled on the PeruRail train, the view was incredible. We met Luciana, a very pretty Peruvian, a Brazilian, some Chileans, we talked with a Spaniard, Uruguayans, Colombians and Venezuelans.

We fell in love with llamas and alpacas.

We were hours away from staying in Peru due to the pandemic and we are very lucky.
