This summer, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an attraction inspired by The Princess and the Frog, will open its doors at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, taking travelers on a musical adventure.
The story Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes place after the events of the Disney movie, right in the Mardi Gras season, where the bayou will light up during a trip full of music and the magic of Mama Odie, and will also feature the presence of The most beloved characters and new friends will join the adventure.
This attraction invites travelers to live a musical adventure throughout the tour thanks to adorable creatures that sing and play instruments made from natural swamp materials.
Tiana’s new friends include an otter, a rabbit, a raccoon, a beaver, a turtle and many more. Their energetic styles will turn the bayou into a party with zydeco music and other genres authentic to the New Orleans region. There will be new, original music along with favorite tunes from the film, created in collaboration with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard.
Besides, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure welcomes the film’s talented voices as they reprise their roles, including Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis and the one and only Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.
Likewise, as travelers navigate among the cypresses and Spanish moss of an incredible Louisiana swamp, they will recognize some familiar faces such as Luis, Mama Odie, Eudora, Charlotte, Prince Ralphie, Prince Naveen, among others; this thanks to Audio-Animatronics technology.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure stands out for its showcasing the artistic authenticity of New Orleans (NOLA). The works of Louisiana artist Malaika Favorite will delight visitors in line and they will be able to see an original metal weather vane by third generation master blacksmith, Darryl Reeves, and his apprentice, Karina Roca. Artwork by New Orleans artist Sharika Mahdi has inspired the attraction from the beginning. And, as an added detail, in line at the attraction, guests can smell the sweet aroma of frying beignets, reminiscent of a walk through the French Quarter.
Without a doubt this attraction will be the favorite of fans of The Princess and the Frog. The exact opening is not yet known, however it will be ready to enjoy this summer at Walt Disney World; In addition, later in 2024 it will open at Disneyland, in California.
