When I was little, my mother used to tell me stories about when she traveled on the Chepe Express as a child. It was wonderful to hear in great detail how impressive it had been for her to be able to travel through the Sierra on a train, the impressive landscapes, the adrenaline she felt when entering each tunnel and the opportunity to be on the terrace of the car and be able to feel the fresh, pure air while that peculiar and classic sound of a moving train played.

It was something that, no matter how many times I told it, was one of my favorite stories. Over time, that story became a dream and TODAY it became a reality.

It’s hard for me to explain the rush of emotions I felt as I stood in front of him with my boarding pass. I couldn’t believe it, because after that day, I would be the one telling that story to my children in a few years.

Life is AMAZING, you know?

For some it may be something very simple, just a walk, but for me it was EVERYTHING.

My knees shook as I climbed the steps, the greeting from that guy in a uniform and a movie hat was the perfect welcome. I took my seat and I swore my heart raced faster than Chepe’s engine.

I could have recorded a thousand videos, but the moment was more important and will remain stored in my mind and soul.

The rest of the trip… what can I say, my heart never calmed down, everything was exactly as my mother had said, it was magical, adrenaline, amazement, tears (yes, I confess I cried several times from the emotion) and an abundance of happiness were the baggage of this adventure.

In summary:

Sometimes things that seem “simple” are dreams for others and today I thank God for the blessing of being able to fulfill it, to have lived it so intensely and next to my favorite person, who never judged me for being glued to the window like a little girl observing the imposing nature, I pointed out to him a thousand times all the rocks and mountains that I liked and held his arm every time we entered a tunnel.

TODAY I LIVED one of my biggest DREAMS with the right person and at the right time.

If you have something pending with yourself, I invite you to do everything possible to do it, life is really short and I think we all deserve to enjoy, feel like children, give ourselves that pleasure or be extremely happy like I was today.
