Snap peas are often enjoyed raw as a snack or used in salads, stir-fries, or other cooked dishes. They are a good source of vitamins C and K, as well as dietary fiber.


  • 1 pound snap peas, trimmed

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: lemon zest or grated Parmesan cheese for garnish


  • Rinse the snap peas under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Trim off the ends if necessary.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the snap peas to the skillet and toss them to coat with the garlic-infused oil. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the snap peas are bright green and tender but still crisp.
  • Season the snap peas with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
  • Transfer the sautéed snap peas to a serving dish. Optionally, garnish with lemon zest or grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  • Serve the sautéed snap peas as a side dish or enjoy them on their own as a tasty and nutritious snack!
