There are people with favorite places, places that make us happy. I have always said that we have to return to those places when we need a boost of energy. For me, San Miguel is that romanticized land where I have imagined a country house, a wedding, a peaceful old age, and it has many canvases.
In San Miguel you can find art, delicious food, crafts, fashion, beautiful streets, the bustle of a town that fills your eyes with many colors and textures.
The last time I visited this wonderful place, I stayed at the Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende hotel, where, to be very honest, I love to sleep because those beds make me dream even more. The hotel has top restaurants such as Zibu Allende and Spice Market, excellent options to delight any palate.
On this weekend trip, touring the city center, I found new local designers, among them, already declared my favorites, are HeartHoney, a brand with a very cool proposal of jewelry and clothing, I love their designs and they can also make you personalized designs, the jewelry is my favorite since it is full of color and is very pop.
Among the gastronomic offerings, my favorite place to dine is Atrio, where we managed to get the best view of the iconic Parroquia de San Miguel; although there is a great variety of places, one always carries some in the heart.
And speaking of hearts, as they say, a full belly makes a happy heart. I’ll leave you with two more recommendations. First, a spectacular breakfast at Rústica, where you’ll find some vegan options. Order a coffee and a biscotti. And to sweeten the afternoon, you should stop by Café Umarán for the best croissants in the area. They’re a delight. Try them and tell me what you think.
