  • 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal

  • 10 ounces (about 4 cups) of marshmallows

  • 3 tablespoons of butter


  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  • Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. This typically takes a few minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture into a buttered or greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Use a spatula or your hands (make sure they’re clean and lightly buttered) to press the mixture firmly into the pan.
  • Allow the treats to cool and set for about 30 minutes, then cut them into squares or bars.
