Ingredients
2 cups of sweet rice flour (glutinous rice flour)
1/2 tsp of salt
1 1/4 cups of warm water
Food coloring (optional)
Cornstarch (for dusting)
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine sweet rice flour, salt, and warm water. Stir until the mixture forms a dough.
- If you want to add color, divide the dough into equal portions and add food coloring to each portion. Mix until the color is evenly distributed.
- Dust a clean work surface with cornstarch. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into small pieces (about 1 inch long). Shape the pieces into oval shapes or the desired shape.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Gently drop the rice cake pieces into the water and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the rice cakes from the water and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or add them to a soup or stir-fry.
