  • Dough
  • 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)

  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • Filling
  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Your favorite pizza toppings (e.g., pepperoni, diced bell peppers, olives)

  • In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, olive oil, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, adding more flour if needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Add your desired pizza toppings.
  • Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll the dough to form a log.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the log into approximately 1-inch wide slices.
  • Place the slices on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Allow the pizza rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Optionally, serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
