A little history of Michelin stars

The Michelin Guide, founded in France in 1900, was originally created as a guide for drivers that included maps, travel tips and listings of auto repair shops. Over time, it expanded to include restaurant reviews and recommendations, and in 1926 it began awarding the coveted Michelin Stars as a symbol of gastronomic quality.

Michelin Stars are awarded on a scale of one to three stars, and each one has its own meaning:

1 Michelin Star: Represents high-quality cuisine that deserves a stop. These restaurants offer excellent food in their category.

2 Michelin Stars: Indicates excellent cuisine that is worth making a detour to visit. These restaurants offer exceptional cuisine and are worth a special visit.

3 Michelin Stars: Considered the pinnacle of culinary excellence, these stars are awarded to restaurants that offer exceptional cuisine and a unique dining experience. They are world-class gastronomic destinations and a visit to them is an unforgettable experience.

The decision to award Michelin Stars is carried out by anonymous inspectors and gastronomy experts who visit restaurants anonymously and carry out rigorous evaluations based on various criteria, such as product quality, culinary technique, creativity, consistency and overall customer experience.

Stars are awarded only to those restaurants that meet the exceptional standards set by the Michelin Guide.
