Ingredients
500 grams of ground beef
300 grams of mozzarella
250 grams of breadcrumbs
2 beaten eggs
2 minced garlic cloves
1 chopped onion
Tomato Sauce
Wheat flour for breading
Black pepper to taste
Green smell to taste
Oregano to taste
Olive oil to taste
Salt to taste
Directions
- In a bowl add the ground beef, chopped garlic, chopped onion, olive oil, black pepper and salt to taste.
Mix a little, add the breadcrumbs and mix again until homogenized. - To make the filling mix the chopped mozzarella with oregano to taste.
Then model two hamburgers with the seasoned ground beef, add a little of the oregano mozzarella mixture and close, forming the polpetone.
Repeat the process with all the meat and stuffing. - Bread each polpetone by passing it first in wheat flour, then in the beaten egg mixture with salt and finally in a little breadcrumbs.
- Fry the polpetones in a frying pan with hot oil until golden and set aside on a plate or platter.
Spread tomato sauce on the bottom of a refractory, add the polpetones on top and cover them with more tomato sauce.
Add mozzarella cheese and chopped green smell to taste on top. - Take the polpetones to the preheated oven at 180º₢ for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese gratins on top, and the polpetone recipe is ready to serve.
