A lobster roll is a popular seafood dish that originated in the New England region of the United States, particularly in Maine. It typically consists of a filling made with fresh lobster meat mixed with mayonnaise, and sometimes other ingredients such as celery, lemon juice, or herbs. The filling is traditionally served in a hot dog-style bun that is split on the top and lightly toasted.

Ingredients
1 ½ pounds (680g) cooked lobster meat, chilled and chopped into chunks
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hot dog-style buns
2 tablespoons melted butter
Chopped chives or paprika (optional, for garnish)
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, celery, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the chopped lobster meat to the bowl and gently fold it into the mayo mixture until the lobster is evenly coated. Be careful not to break up the lobster meat too much.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Brush the insides of the hot dog buns with melted butter and toast them in the skillet until they are lightly browned and crispy on both sides.
- Divide the lobster mixture evenly among the toasted buns, spooning it into the opening on the top of each bun.
- If desired, garnish the lobster rolls with chopped chives or a sprinkle of paprika.
- Serve the lobster rolls immediately with your choice of sides, such as coleslaw, fries, or a pickle.
