Ingredients

  • Cake
  • 3 medium carrots, chopped

  • 4 eggs

  • 3 tablespoons of milk

  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence

  • 3/4 cup oil (for those who don’t know, 3/4 cup is almost like a whole cup. Near the edge of the cup, but you leave it just a little less) or 180ml

  • 2 cup caster sugar or 400g

  • 2 cups and 3/4 all-purpose flour (i.e. 2 whole cups plus one cup almost full to the top) or 450g

  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon yolk yellow gel food coloring (optional)

  • Syrup
  • 3 tablespoons of margarine or half a stick of unsalted butter (100g)

  • 1 and a half cups of refined sugar or 2 for those who prefer it very sweet (I recommend 1 and a half cups)

  • 1 cup 50% cocoa powder (I used Nestlé)

  • 3 cups of whole milk

Instructions

  • Pasta
  • In a blender, add 3 medium chopped carrots;
  • Add 4 eggs;
  • Add 3 tablespoons of milk;
  • Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence;
  • Add 3/4 cup of oil;
  • Beat well;
  • Add 1 teaspoon of yolk yellow gel food coloring (optional);
  • Beat some more;
  • Transfer the dough to a bowl;
  • Add 2 cup of granulated sugar or 400g;
  • Mix;
  • Add 2 and 3/4 cups of wheat flour;
  • Mix well;
  • Add 1 tablespoon of baking powder;
  • Mix;
  • Grease a mold with butter and flour;
  • Transfer the dough to the form;
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for approximately 35 minutes;
  • Syrup
  • In a pan over low heat, add 3 full tablespoons of margarine;
  • Add 1 and a half cups of refined sugar or 2 for those who prefer it very sweet;
  • Add 1 cup of cocoa powder 50%;
  • Add 3 cups of whole milk;
  • Mix well until it forms a lot of bubbles and gets very dark;
  • Turn off the heat and continue stirring for 1 minute;
  • Mounting
  • Cut the pieces of the cake;
  • Pour the syrup on top;
