Today, April 28, we celebrate Santos Pablo Pham Khac Khoan, Juan Bautista Dinh Van Thanh y Pedro Nguyen Van Hieu who were Christian martyrs.
Saints Pablo Pham Khac Khoan, Juan Bautista Dinh Van Thanh and Pedro Nguyen Van Hieu during the persecutions against Christians ordered by the emperor Minh Mang They were imprisoned for three years where they were tortured to make them renounce their Christian faith.
When Saints Pablo Pham Khac Khoan, Juan Bautista Dinh Van Thanh and Pedro Nguyen Van Hieu did not do so, they were executed.
Pablo Pham Khac Khoan was a priest, while Juan Bautista Dinh Van Thanh and Pedro Nguyen Van Hieu were catechists.
Pope John Paul II canonized them on June 19, 1988.
