Today June 23 we celebrate Santos Zenón and Zenas of Philadelphia who were Christian martyrs.
Saint Zenas was an assistant to Saint Zeno who was a soldier of the Roman Empire and who was martyred along with him.
San Zeno was thrown into a dungeon due to his Christian faith and that is when he receives a visit from San Zenas, his assistant, who not holding back kisses the martyr’s chains, for which he is also arrested for being a Christian, both being executed later.
Saints Zeno and Zenas of Philadelphia died in Philadelphia, in present-day Saudi Arabia on June 23, 304.
There is no more information about the life and work of Santos Zenón and Zenas of Philadelphia.
Although what is a fact is that its celebration takes place on the day June 23.
