From February 22 to March 4, the 45th edition of the Palacio de Minería Book Fair will take place in Mexico City.
For this edition, the guest state will be Sinaloa; In addition, there will be more than 1,076 activities, 777 book presentations, 114 talks, 21 round tables, 39 readings and recitals, and 71 workshops.
The state of Sinaloa will be present through the National College of Sinaloa, the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, the catalog of the Sinaloa Institute of Culture, among others. It will also seek to echo the great writers of all time such as Gilberto Owen, Enrique González Rojo, and painters such as Antonio López Sainz, whose work is the image of the fair.
In addition, within the programming of the state of Sinaloa as a guest, 45 books, 12 talks, four workshops and three conferences will be presented, among other activities.
Among the activities that will be carried out at the fair are book presentations, talks, round tables, concerts, workshops, poetry recitals, readings aloud, youth scientific dissemination days, horror literature days, film activities, among other.
Likewise, this edition will stand out for the increase in female writing, where more than half of the publications that will be presented will be by female authors and 32 activities linked to the gender issue will be presented.
Also, for the first time, an artificial intelligence cycle will be carried out, where great specialists from the Mexican Academy of Computing of the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics of the National Polytechnic Institute will participate.
And for film lovers, there will be 12 activities related to the seventh art, among which the presentation of the book that commemorates the 50 years of the founding of the National Cinematheque stands out.
The Palacio de Minería Book Fair will take place from February 22 to March 4, 2024 from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with an entry cost of 20 pesos; on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with an entrance cost of 25 pesos.
The Mining Palace is located at Tacuba 5, in the Historic Center of Mexico City.
