A bike trip from Prague offers a perfect combination of exercise, enchanting scenery and a deep immersion in the history and culture of the Czech Republic.
A few days ago, Violeta, Miriam and I took a tour that takes cyclists through some of the most picturesque and significant places in the region, covering a distance of approximately 44 kilometers.
The tour starts in Prague and heads north, with the first major stop at Troja Castle (Trojský Zámek), a 17th-century Baroque palace known for its impressive staircase with mythological statues and detailed frescoes. Surrounded by gardens and vineyards, it offers panoramic views and is a prominent example of Baroque architecture in the city.
We then head to the village of Veltrusy. Here, you can explore the imposing baroque Veltrusy Castle, surrounded by a vast garden adorned with historical sculptures.

This castle, an excellent example of 18th-century architecture, offers a peaceful and historic setting, ideal for a relaxing stroll.
The route then continues to Nelahozeves, a village of great cultural importance as the birthplace of the famous composer Antonín Dvořák.
In Nelahozeves, you can visit the brand new Dvořák museum, located in the house where he was born, and learn more about his life and musical legacy. To understand the musician’s sensibility, the museum is fully interactive and features activities for the whole family.
In addition, Nelahozeves is home to another remarkable castle, that of the Lobkowicz family, which adds a fascinating historical and architectural dimension to the trip. After 44 kilometres, we stopped to eat and recharge the battery for the return trip…
But fear not, the tour concludes with a train ride back to Prague, allowing you to relax after a day of exploration and adventure.
The Czech Republic is an ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts, with a network of well-maintained routes that traverse stunning landscapes.
During this tour, travelers can delight in breathtaking views including lush forests, wide meadows and the meandering Vltava River, which graces the journey with its natural beauty.
These trails are not only safe and accessible, but also provide a deep connection with nature and the rural environment, allowing explorers to fully immerse themselves in the experience.
We did the bike tour with a Spanish-speaking guide and support from Europe Bike Tourswho at all times were concerned about safety and providing an unforgettable experience.
