Blessed Maria Cándida Feast of the Eucharist Barba June 12

Today June 12 we celebrate Blessed Maria Candida of the Eucharist Beard who was a Christian virgin.

Blessed Maria Candida of the Eucharist Barba was born in Catanzaro, Italy, in the year 1884 and died in Ragusa, Italy, in the year 1949.

Blessed María Cándida de la Eucaristía Barba from a very young age wanted to dedicate herself to religious life, but her family refused to do so, so she had to dedicate herself to housework, however, she never stopped fighting for her dream that she achieved come true 20 years later.

María Cándida de la Eucaristía Barba entered the Discalced Carmelite nuns of Ragusa, Italy, in 1919, always having a great devotion for the Eucharist.

Blessed María Cándida de la Eucaristía Barba was prioress of her community, a position she held until the day of her death.

Unfortunately Blessed Maria Candida of the Eucharist Barba died of a terrible illness in Ragusa.

Pope John Paul II beatified her on March 21, 2004.
