Baked beans are a popular dish in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of navy beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 cup molasses

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Add the navy beans to the bowl and stir until the beans are coated in the sauce.
  • Pour the bean mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Pour the water over the top of the bean mixture.
  • If desired, sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top of the beans.
  • Bake the beans in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened and bubbly.
